Yoane Wissa Demands Transfer as Newcastle Eyes Liverpool Deal for Isak

Newcastle United’s recent club-record signing of Nick Woltemade has intensified the speculation surrounding Alexander Isak’s future at St. James’ Park. The £69 million acquisition of Woltemade has raised the likelihood of Isak departing for Liverpool before the transfer window closes on Monday. Newcastle have made a point of saying on more than one occasion that they would only sell Isak if they could sign the right replacement first. The pressure to do so is undeniably increasing.

Liverpool had at one stage made a bid over £110 million, including add-ons, for Isak, which Newcastle turned down earlier this summer. In order to push through any further agreement, Liverpool will have to come to the table with a better deal. Newcastle’s desire to re-tool their attack is evidenced by their recruitment of new players. They want another striker in any way before considering offers for Isak, and certainly not from Liverpool.

Wissa’s Frustration at Brentford

English Premier League leaders Newcastle are making the running for Yoane Wissa of Brentford. Unfortunately, anti-racism advocates are coming up against major roadblocks in their pursuit of justice. Brentford had already rejected two offers from the Magpies this summer. They turned down the much lower £25 million bid initially, then a higher £40 million one subsequently. With the summer transfer window rapidly closing, Wissa at least has made his intention to depart Brentford clear.

In a rawig post posted on Instagram, Wissa shared his frustration with the failed negotiations. He was consistent about being a professional through the whole process, and he made it clear that even if he moved, he wouldn’t stay.

“I want to make it clear that I have not acted unprofessionally, nor do I wish to leave Brentford on bad terms. I have been transparent in my position throughout. I have continued to communicate openly with the club and conduct myself in a way that reflects my values as both a footballer and a human being.” – Yoane Wissa

Wissa hasn’t played in any of Brentford’s games this year, increasing the chatter on his future. He mentioned that a lack of movement could tarnish his time at Brentford, stating, “Being made to stay beyond this summer will only tarnish four wonderful years at this incredible club.”

Changing Dynamics at Brentford

As the deadline nears, Brentford’s tone over the likelihood of Wissa’s departure seems to be changing. The club’s hierarchy had first promised him that they would be able to facilitate an exit this summer. According to news reports, they might be reversing course. This drastic change has resulted in Wissa feeling discouraged and unsure about his livelihood going forward.

He remarked on the evolving situation: “Yet as the window comes to an end, the club has now significantly changed its position, going against what was communicated. This has left me in a difficult and frustrating position.”

In reference to these challenges, Wissa has high regard for Brentford and their fans. He acknowledged their unwavering support during this tumultuous time: “I want to thank all the Brentford fans for their support and understanding during this difficult situation.”

Prospects for Newcastle and Liverpool

Newcastle’s pursuit of Wissa may serve as a pivotal factor in Liverpool’s attempts to secure Isak. If Newcastle are able to pull off the signing of Wissa, it would free them up to allow Liverpool to go all in for Isak. The Magpies are fiercely keen to improve their squad further before they even consider his fate or any bids for their ace sharpshooter.

For Wissa, the impetus to depart comes from his own ambitions — married with a desire to make a bigger impact. He stated, “In the meantime, I must do what I feel is right for my career and family and insist that Brentford honour their promise to let me join a new club and at a fair price.”

Now, with precious few hours remaining in the transfer window, Newcastle is in a precarious position. So does Brentford, and both clubs could reinvigorate their squads of the future.
