Week 12 NFL Injury Updates: Key Player Statuses and Insights

As we head into Week 12 of the NFL season, teams are getting their rosters set and taking a look at the health of their players. Among these are a few high profile offensive updates that will have a massive effect on their respective teams. Quarterback Jaxson Dart, for example, has been taking enormous steps in his recovery from a concussion. In the meantime, it’s Jameis Winston‘s turn to play as the starter. A few other players are in the air, which should impact their teams and the strategies of their expected competitors.

He’s healing beautifully and has had no issues or setbacks in terms of his concussion recovery. This surprising development is key for his club as they kick off the long and difficult course of the arbiter’s season. Jameis Winston will be stepping in as the new starter come Week 12. His wide presence will stretch defenses, allowing his future team a richer offensive palette. Unfortunately, Brian Thomas Jr. and Chris Godwin Jr. remain elusive to a written prediction. This lack of clarity has fans and coaches alike unsure if they’ll be ready for next week’s highly-anticipated showdown.

Key Player Updates

>Kyle Monangai takes the spotlight this week, as he’ll face no challengers for the starting RB spot. His role will likely increase, opening up a best-case scenario for him shattering all previously held WRs and revolutionizing the game. Chimere Dike has been taken off the injury report. This means he is healthy and fit to get out the door and help save the world at work!

With DeVaughn gone, speedy wideout and former practice squader Xavier Restrepo has been promoted. He’ll provide much-needed depth. Marvin Harrison Jr. is still having a hard time with the pecking order though, still trailing Rashee Rice and Hollywood Brown. If so, this would greatly curtail his effectiveness on the field as the season moves into the home stretch.

When healthy, Chris Godwin—who is expected to play this week—will give his new team’s offense a considerable jolt. Likewise, Baker Mayfield is expected to hit the field, which would only bolster their offensive juggernaut.

Injury Reports and Speculations

Brenton Strange has been activated from IR. With him participating in only limited practice due to the injury, it puts into question whether or not he’s truly ready for game action. Isaac TeSlaa’s status is a mystery, which just complicates further the roster wrangling coaches have to face to get in the game.

Jameson Williams may find himself in a favorable position if Isaac TeSlaa sits out, as he won’t have to compete for targets. Further complicating matters, Drake London’s status is uncertain as well, putting fans in suspense about his possible impact.

Alvin Kamara continues to play despite being listed as questionable, showcasing his resilience as a key player for his team. At the same time, Kenneth Walker III appears to be questionable at best going into the weekend, adding intrigue as to whether he’ll be available.

Upcoming Challenges

If indeed Josh Jacobs sits this week, that will be a huge loss for his team, if it ends up being official. Rhamondre Stevenson, on the other hand, likely will play and could be key cog in their offensive success. Elic Ayomanor has been ruled out, creating a domino effect on depth charts for multiple teams.

With Burrow starting to practice again, he could possibly return next Thursday, but that expected timeline is still up in the air. His return would be a significant boost for his squad as they make their playoff push down the stretch of the regular season.

That Xavier Worthy we’ve been hearing about in practice is really coming along. He’s slated to return this week, adding some additional offensive knife’s-edge-ness to his team’s attack. Jayden Reed is a few weeks away from making his case—assuming he survives the gauntlet that is Green Bay’s crowded wide receiver room. Fans can’t wait to hear good news about his progress!
