Warriors Strategize Curry’s Comeback for Friday Showdown

Stephen Curry was ruled out before the highly anticipated Tuesday night matchup against the Miami Heat. The Golden State Warriors' star guard sat out his second consecutive game due to a pelvic contusion he sustained during last Thursday's victory over the Toronto Raptors. Despite working out before the game, Curry experienced a movement that didn't feel quite right, prompting the decision to rest him further.

The Warriors have played this full week off very well. This break comes at an opportune time with the team’s two-day stretch without a game. Coach Steve Kerr spoke positively yesterday that Curry would be back for Friday’s game against the New Orleans Pelicans. The additional rest period is expected to facilitate recovery from the injury and provide an opportunity for Curry to recharge.

"Knowing the schedule, knowing we've got the next two days off, I think it'll be a full week when he returns. We expect him to return into New Orleans. We'll see… a full week off and that could really take care of the injury and regenerate, recharge his batteries. So I think that's a good plan." – Coach Steve Kerr

Individually, the team has certainly missed Curry. Players and fans alike are counting the days until he returns to the court. The decision to withhold him from Tuesday's game was made with careful consideration of Curry's well-being and the Warriors' schedule. The hope is that this strategic lag will pay off to make sure Curry’s in the best shape possible in pivotal games ahead.

"He worked out and looked good," – Coach Steve Kerr
