Warriors’ Podziemski Undergoes Second Offseason Surgery

Brandin Podziemski, point guard for the Golden State Warriors and 2023 NBA Draft second-round pick, recently had surgery on a core muscle injury. The operation occurred Tuesday, which the Dolphins later confirmed in their initial announcement. This will be Podziemski’s second surgery of the offseason after undergoing a left wrist debridement surgery on May 27.

Podziemski is expected to make a full recovery after dealing with a right abdominal injury that required surgery on December 28. This injury sidelined him for 12 games right in the heart of the season. Losing him proved pretty disastrous for his candidacy. He ended up missing 18 regular-season games in his second season with the Warriors. Even with those frustrations, Podziemski demonstrated his high feeling, posting 11.7 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 3.4 assists per game.

He should be all set for the beginning of training camp. This is especially important as the coaching staff prepares for next season. Now, Teammate Moses Moody is on the same recovery path as Podziemski. He had surgery on May 21 to repair a torn ulnar collateral ligament in his right thumb. As with Podziemski, the Warriors are hoping and expecting that Moody will be able to join them in training camp.

While Podziemski has a challenging road ahead into rehab, all eyes, including fans and team officials, will be intrigued by how he bounces back. His performance will be crucial for the Warriors as they look to get back on top of the league’s hierarchy. Podziemski and Moody will be back in time for training camp. The team looks forward to getting their competitive depth and edge back!
