The Golden State Warriors have now officially ruled out their star player, Stephen Curry for Game 5. This upcoming playoff matchup against the Los Angeles Clippers will go on without him. Curry aggravated an already existing Grade 1 hamstring strain early in the second quarter of Game 1. This place that he is in has forced him to miss the past three games.
The Warriors tweeted out Curry’s status Tuesday evening. He won’t be available, they’d confirmed as they hope for big postseason run, they hope. His absence has raised concerns among fans and analysts regarding the team’s performance, especially in a crucial game where they face elimination.
Curry’s unfortunate injury occurred during a very pivotal point of the series. Since then, the Warriors have limped into contention and have had a hard time replacing their star guard. Curry has been ruled out for this game. If he does make it back in time for Game 6, he’ll have the benefit of an additional three days to rest and recuperate. That game will be Sunday at home, a crucial opportunity for Curry and a critical one for this version of the Warriors.
Draymond Green spoke to the media after Curry’s injury and drove home this point about why it’s critical to take a patient approach to recovering from injury.
“No, we’re not going to Superman this thing,” – Draymond Green.
Green further noted that while the team recognizes Curry’s importance, there is no pressure on him to rush back into action.
“Got to play the long game. If he can, we know he will. But there’s no pressure. We’ve got to figure out how to win whether he plays or not,” – Draymond Green.
