Tyrese Haliburton Makes History with Triple-Double to Propel Pacers in Game 4

Tyrese Haliburton had an incredible performance in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Finals. His incredible performance powered the Indiana Pacers to an extremely important victory. The 6’2” 220-point guard notched at least 30 points, 15 assists and 10 rebounds while not turning the ball over once. This remarkable achievement made him the first player in postseason history to accomplish this feat since turnovers began being tracked in the 1977-78 season.

The action and atmosphere of that game at Gainbridge Fieldhouse served to amplify Haliburton’s deafening talent and poise. He finished the first half a mere two rebounds shy of a triple-double! His dynamic, back-breaking play allowed the Pacers to end the half on a 6-0 run, taking a lead into the locker room at 69-64. Led by Haliburton, the Pacers advanced to within one win of their second appearance in the NBA Finals.

Along with his highly efficient scoring and playmaking, Haliburton added four steals, making his imprint on the game on the defensive end of the floor as well. It was just his second career postseason triple-double, confirming that he is indeed an emerging superstar in the league.

See, Haliburton’s father, John, was in attendance that game, making it an emotional moment for father and son alike. John had been unable to attend Indiana’s previous eight postseason games after confronting Giannis Antetokounmpo following Haliburton’s last-second shot that eliminated Milwaukee in the first round.

“I’m glad Pop’s in the building. It makes it that much more sweet,” Haliburton expressed after the game, reflecting on the significance of having his father in attendance.

The Pacers’ ability to bury the Kings in this pivotal midseason clash is largely to Haliburton’s all-around domination. His ability to control the game and make decisive plays not only energized his teammates but thrilled the home crowd. Looking ahead, Indiana is poised for a deep playoff run. In the meantime, Haliburton has set a new standard for future players to aspire to.
