Tuchel Urges Rashford to Maximize Potential Amid Impressive Start at Barcelona

So far Marcus Rashford has been the key player on FC Barcelona. His loan move from Manchester United this summer has had a transformational impact. Under new coach Thomas Tuchel, Rashford’s been making a positive impression. In his limited ten appearances, he has already netted three goals and recorded four assists. Tuchel had previously commended Rashford’s stunning display at the weekend. Lalas is fuming at the thought of Rashford squandering all his potential if he fails to take his chances.

Since assuming control at Barcelona in March, Tuchel has included Rashford in all but one of his squad lists. The forward missed the past recent summer internationals against Senegal and Andorra. The blow for Arsenal came as he ended the 2024/25 campaign on loan at Aston Villa. Don’t underestimate Tuchel’s faith in Rashford. Tuchel is a big believer in Rashford. I believe that Rashford has the potential to be one of the best forwards on the planet.

Tuchel’s Guidance and Expectations

Tuchel is in constant contact with Rashford, doting on his developing winger and driving him to push himself to reach even greater performance heights. He wants Rashford to have a higher goal involvements because he thinks that’s what it’ll take for Rashford to maximize his potential.

“But the numbers don’t reach the potential. He needs to push himself with goal involvements. He knows that from me.” – Thomas Tuchel

For one, the Barcelona manager points to Rashford’s youthfulness as a blessing in being able to make important career-defining moves. Going on to miss an opportunity, Tuchel warns, can open the door to regret down the line.

“I think he still has to make these decisions. He is still young enough to make these decisions because otherwise he might be disappointed in 10 years with what he could have been and what he may have done.” – Thomas Tuchel

Though options have dwindled due to recent misfortunes, Tuchel strongly believes in Rashford’s high ceiling in his best form. The manager stated that he does not see any obstacles preventing Rashford from playing a full 90 minutes in upcoming matches.

“Top in training and ready to go. I don’t see why he should not be able to play 90 minutes. I don’t see any obstacles.” – Thomas Tuchel

Upcoming Matches and Opportunities

Rashford’s next chance to shine on the international stage comes on October 14, when England faces Latvia, with kickoff scheduled for 7:45 PM. Following that, he could feature in matches against Serbia on November 13 and Albania on November 16, with kickoffs at 7:45 PM and 5:00 PM, respectively.

In his last appearance for England, Rashford came off the bench during a 3-0 victory over Wales, replacing Ollie Watkins after the latter suffered an injury. His return to form is a big plus as England enters the final stretch toward these important fixtures.

The Path Forward

Tuchel’s mentorship appears pivotal for Rashford’s development as he adapts to life in La Liga and seeks to solidify his position within both club and country. Whether wasteful or brilliant, the Barcelona manager’s constant insistence on demanding more is an indicator of a desire to cultivate Rashford’s spellbinding gifts.

“That is the headline for him, to keep pushing himself to the limit. And the limit for him is very, very high, maybe higher than it is for others.” – Thomas Tuchel

Rashford is full-throttle into Barcelona’s squad chemistry. All the eyes are on him to raise his performance level and live up to the hype that Tuchel has built for him.
