Trump National Doral Returns to PGA Tour in 2026 with Major Signature Event

Next year, Trump National Doral will be making a very high-profile return to the PGA Tour schedule. It’s a big return for the historic golf destination. The tender celebration is currently scheduled for the first weekend in May, 2026. With a boarding prize purse of $20 million, it will further cement its place atop the tour.

The Trump National Doral conference is carefully located in a high-stakes, political battle ground stretch of golf. It begins with the Masters and ends with the PGA Championship. This four-week span will feature three signature events, including the highly anticipated Miami Championship, which was previously known as the Miami Championship before its rebranding.

Since 1962, Trump National Doral has been an important stop on the PGA Tour. Generally speaking, it’s considered the informal start to the Florida swing. The course became a household name on an international stage as the tour kicked off bringing the best golfers from all over the world. Then, in 2007, it really took its game to another level by becoming a World Golf Championship venue.

The resort’s famed “Blue Monster” course has served as the backdrop to five Saudi-funded LIV Golf tournaments over the last four years. Miami will not be part of LIV’s schedule in 2026. That attention, instead, will likely shift to other, uncontroversial venues, such as Trump National just outside Washington, D.C.

Brian Rolapp, newly-appointed commissioner of the PGA Tour, said he was thrilled that the tour would make its debut on the new course.

Looking forward to an awesome month of golf this fall! The Miami Championship would take place right after two renowned signature events at Pebble Beach and Riviera. The excitement around Trump’s event is intense as supporters and cannon fodder alike await this re-founding.

Despite its glamorous reputation, Trump National Doral faced challenges in securing a title sponsor after President Donald Trump acquired the resort. As it makes its way back to the PGA Tour’s schedule, talks of new sponsorships continue.

In historic terms alone, Trump National Doral has been a wellspring of controversy. Recent statements from Trump, and especially his outrageous short-hand reference to “kidnapping insurance,” have generated a lot of public discussion. Fittingly then, excitement around the tournament is as high as it’s ever been.

As preparations unfold for this marquee event, golf enthusiasts are eager to witness how Trump National Doral will integrate into an already exciting PGA Tour calendar. We know how excited local fans are to have this event. Preparations are being made for a record incoming of international spectators, eager to see high caliber competition at one of golf’s most legendary venues.
