Treylon Burks Injured in Practice as Titans Sign Replacement

Burks was injured during a collision in Saturday’s open practice at Nissan Stadium. Burks’ diving, one-handed catch in the team drill was out of this world. In his attempt to maintain control of the football, his shoulder crashed into the turf causing a serious injury. This latest stroke of bad luck sends the young receiver back to square one yet again. During his career, he’s had a nagging history of constant injury issues.

The severity of Burks’ injury was initially reported by the NFL Network. Burks suffered the knee injury when he tore his ACL in practice last October. This injury would ultimately roll him out for the remainder of the season. Tennessee selected Burks with the 18th overall pick in the 2022 draft. In three seasons with the team, he appeared in 27 games, recording 53 receptions for 699 yards and one touchdown.

Burks had a monster start to this training camp. He came in extremely fit and made a strong first impression on new general manager Mike Borgonzi. We want to see him back on the field after all the years he’s had to spend off the field.

“The last three years, my injuries limited me from being who I really am. I feel like I’m in a good place, man. God has brought me from the lowest to the highest and highest to the lowest. I’m blessed for that.” – Treylon Burks

Burks is out for the foreseeable future. Titans add a new WR option To bolster their receiving corps, the Titans have added former Raiders wide receiver Ramel Keyton. Keyton saw action in eight games for Las Vegas last season, but he registered just one catch in that span.

Titans coach Brian Callahan provided an update on Burks’ condition, stating, “Treylon Burks is being evaluated right now for a shoulder injury and we’ll have an update on his status at the appropriate time.” The front office had decided not to exercise Burks’ fifth-year option for next year. This decision may have major implications on the long-term direction of the franchise given that they face this new injury-related fork in the road.

Conversations with Tennessee Titans as they prepare for the new season. They need to immediately pivot their plans for how they’ll approach games without Burks so readily available. His absence will definitely be felt on their offensive game plan as they try to stay competitive in their tough division.
