And just like that, the Oklahoma City Thunder have officially revealed their new City Edition unis! It is our hope that these designs honor the Native and Indigenous cultures that continue to shape Oklahoma’s identity and community spirit. The big reveal came on August 21, 2025. The new uniforms will first be seen on court against the Sacramento Kings on November 19, during the team’s Native American Heritage Night.
That bold, idiosyncratic design aesthetic continues with all 11 geometric stars that decorate the sides of the jerseys and shorts. Each star represents the family histories shared over time that contribute to Oklahoma’s diverse cultural tapestry. The Thunder hope these rich, colorful, culturally significant designs will help pay tribute to the 67 American Indian tribes that now consider Oklahoma their home.
The City Edition uniforms have a killer new darker shade of blue. A bright sunset-colored sash color blocks the uniform, curving around the shoulder and diagonally down the shorts leg. This sash is a testament to the resilience of Oklahoma’s tribes and their enduring spirit. Most importantly, it emphasizes the deep relationship between the players and the metro area.
In addition to the new uniforms, the Thunder plan to introduce an alternate court theme for their City Night games, starting December 5. This player-driven initiative is designed to engage the fan experience on game day and honor the legacy of their uniforms, which hold cultural significance.
The diagonal “waterlike teeth” on the jerseys link the two colors together in an aggressive way. This design really is a testament to the team’s commitment to telling Oklahoma’s mosaic of cultural stories. Interlocking geometric shapes spell out “OKC” in the middle of the jersey, deepening the team’s identity and roots in the community.
