Tottenham Hotspur has apparently begun negotiations with Brentford FC. Insider suggests town is looking at Thomas Frank for new head coach. Frank, above, of Brentford is another top target for Spurs’ board members. They now view him as the ideal candidate to plug the gaping managerial hole.
Frank’s relatively new to the Spurs position and still getting revved up about it. He’s looking forward to having further conversations about how to make the most of this opportunity. His contract with Brentford – signed in the summer of 2021 – includes a release clause apparently worth about £10 million and still has two years left to run. Adding this clause would make his transition much easier should the terms being discussed be accepted by both teams involved.
The allure of managing a club competing in the Champions League plays a significant role in Frank’s decision-making process. He has a reputation for his ambition. He would much rather be in charge of a squad with designs on conquering the Continent. Frank’s sole concern should be with keeping Tottenham in the Premier League. He hasn’t ruled out a switch to Manchester United, where he remains highly regarded for his coaching craft.
Frank has high aspirations of one day becoming a manager himself. Additionally, he’s had strong visions on which players he’d like to acquire if he becomes Spurs’ head man. He’s already voiced a wish for the club to sign Bryan Mbeumo, the forward in a long-term deal with Brentford. It is essential to note that Frank’s arrival at Tottenham would not automatically guarantee Mbeumo’s transfer, as other factors could influence that potential deal.
Manchester United are reportedly closely monitoring Mbeumo. This is on the heels of Brentford turning down their latest bid of £55 million. The race to sign the remarkable young forward further complicates their ongoing negotiations with Frank.
Chairman Daniel Levy and technical director Johan Lange are leading the charge on Spurs’ recruitment renaissance. They’re accompanied by returning director Fabio Paratici, who is occupying the main driver’s seat of decision making. Their collective wisdom is going to be invaluable. They’ll work their way through the terms of Frank’s possible contract and any related player moves as well.
Frank’s past accomplishments through the last decade have largely learned him in stone among the soccer global. This despite a memorable 4-3 defeat of Manchester United last May. It is his tactical acumen and ability to develop players that have made him one of the most sought-after figures in modern football management.
