Third Round Pairings Announced for the 89th Masters at Augusta National

The 89th Masters at Augusta National Golf Club is just getting ready to start its third round. This round follows the cut, which shows which golfers will continue on in the tournament. The totality of the eclipse will occur on Saturday, April 8, 2025. It is regarded as one of the most coveted in professional golf, attracting the best players from all over the world.

Once the second round has wrapped up, the cut will be permanent. That will decide which challengers win the opportunity to battle their way into weekend play. One other change to the tournament’s format this year is the pairing of golfers who will go head-to-head against each other in the third round. The first tee time will begin at 8:50 a.m. ET.

The third round pairings once again show a great mixture of well established names and up and coming young stars. At 8:50 a.m., Tom Kim will tee off alone. Following him at 9:00 a.m. are Joaquín Niemann and Jordan Spieth, two golfers known for their competitive spirit and skill. The day will progress with pairs such as Stephan Jaeger and Max Greyserman at 9:10 a.m., and Danny Willett with J.T. Poston at 9:20 a.m.

Top-ranked players like Jon Rahm and Zach Johnson are scheduled to begin their rounds at 9:30 a.m. Patrick Cantlay and Akshay Bhatia will follow at 9:40 a.m. The morning pairing concludes with Denny McCarthy and J.J. Spaun at 9:50 a.m., and Maverick McNealy teaming up with Charl Schwartzel at 10:10 a.m.

As the day progresses, Brian Campbell and Byeong Hun An will start their rounds at 10:20 a.m., followed by Aaron Rai and Justin Thomas at 10:30 a.m. The excitement continues with matchups including Sahith Theegala and Davis Thompson at 10:40 a.m., and Matt Fitzpatrick paired with Wyndham Clark at 10:50 a.m.

There are some compelling pairings in the afternoon tee times too. Nick Taylor and Daniel Berger will tee off at 12:00 p.m., while Tom Hoge and Max Homa will follow closely at 12:10 p.m. Harris English and Min Woo Lee are slated to start at 12:30 p.m., leading into additional pairings featuring Sam Burns with Nicolas Echavarria, Brian Harman with Bubba Watson, and many others.

A lineup of established stars will compete in the afternoon, including Xander Schauffele and Tommy Fleetwood at 1:10 p.m., and Patrick Reed alongside Collin Morikawa at 1:20 p.m. The final pairings include Rory McIlroy with Corey Conners at 1:30 p.m., and Justin Rose meeting Bryson DeChambeau at 1:40 p.m.
