The Skins Game Returns With Star-Studded Lineup in South Florida

The Skins Game, one of the great traditions in professional golf, will return next year after a 15-year absence. This in-person event first started all the way back in 1983. Look forward to seeing it come to life on Friday, November 24, 2023 in South Florida! This year’s competition will feature the best of the best from every corner of the globe. Don’t miss these electric displays of golf from Tommy Fleetwood, Keegan Bradley, Justin Thomas and Xander Schauffele!

The Skins Game became a revolutionary competition in the history of golf. It was a perfect combination of top players competing for cash prizes while keeping things cool and casual. The very first tournament featured legendary golfers like Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer, Tom Watson, and Gary Player. Since then, it’s grown into an unmissable event known for close competition filled with thrilling drama and one-of-a-kind racing formats. That’s the hope, at least—the last edition was in 2008, when K.J. Choi won his first and only major title.

This year’s edition is a radical departure for The Skins Game. Now moving from its traditional home in the California desert to South Florida, this year’s tournament is a clear sign of the changing landscape of professional golf. The local connection truly does run deep! Of course, three of his competitors—Keegan Bradley, Xander Schauffele, and Justin Thomas—now consider Ponte Vedra Beach their home base.

That’s because the format of The Skins Game has been pretty unique. Each participant starts with $1 million. Their imagined fates depend on how they play on each hole. This “reverse purse” format adds a huge layer of strategy and excitement to the game. Players have the chance to make or lose actual money on each shot they take. Spectators can look forward to edge-of-their-seat excitement as winners and losers are decided in the course of the competition.

For viewers at home, The Skins Game will be taking place on Prime Video rather than regular network television. Expanded coverage will begin at 9 a.m., giving fans the chance to follow all of the on-track action from right at home. The continuing move to all-digital streaming platforms heralds even positive changes in sports broadcasting. It does try to excite a new generation of golf fans.
