She achieved this remarkable feat by defeating Clara Tauson in the final of the prestigious Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships. At just 17 years and 299 days old, Andreeva's victory not only marks a significant milestone in her burgeoning career but also propels her into the top 10 of the world rankings, a position not reached by someone so young since Nicole Vaidisova in 2007.
Andreeva's path to victory was anything but smooth. She showcased extraordinary talent and resilience by defeating several top players along the way. In the quarterfinals, she toppled five-time grand slam champion Iga Świątek, while in the semifinals, she triumphed over world No. 7 Elena Rybakina. The win at Dubai not only elevates Andreeva's ranking from world No. 9 to within the top 10 but also grants her a substantial prize of $597,000. However, due to her age, Andreeva cannot yet possess her own bank account. In a lighthearted moment after her win, she mentioned that all the prize money "goes on his credit card because I don’t have my own yet," referring to her reliance on her team's financial management.
