Suns’ Green to Sit Out Season Opener Due to Hamstring Strain

Josh Green, the new guard of the Phoenix Suns, has been ruled out for the team’s regular-season opener. It all begins with the Sacramento Kings on October 22. After experiencing a low-grade hamstring strain in training camp, which has kept him out to open the season, he’s still looking for that breakout.

Even after suffering that serious injury, Green even made the trip to China with the team for their preseason games over there. He helped the Suns’ cause by appearing in two preseason games against the Brooklyn Nets. Still, his injury has limited his ability to participate fully in team practices as they start to look toward the regular season.

The Suns are going to be careful with Green’s recovery. His teams has announced that he will be re-evaluated in 10 days. This news indicates that his absence could extend past the 2023 season opener. This decision is a strong demonstration of prioritizing Green’s overall health and healing above all else.

Green’s injury is a major blow to the Suns’ rotation. Like any good stretch run, they need to create some positive momentum in the beginning of the season. His overall performance in the preseason left everyone awestruck. As his team takes on the Kings in round 1, you can be certain that they’ll miss someone with his talent. Regardless, the Suns are going to have to prepare for life without him for significant stretches.
