Stephen Curry Escapes Serious Injury, Suffers Pelvic Contusion

Stephen Curry, the star guard for the Golden State Warriors, recently got an MRI. Further analysis showed that, indeed, he had experienced a pelvic contusion in the game against the Toronto Raptors. Thankfully, a later MRI showed no structural damage. Curry had been in the game for 25 minutes and scored 17 points before his abrupt exit with 3:24 remaining in the third quarter.

Curry made a strong cut into the paint, drew the contact and fell hard on a collision with a Raptors player. The violent jolt caused him to fall to the court with extreme force. What followed was succinctly summed up as “scary” by fellow teammate and friend Draymond Green.

"You could hear it. It was crazy. Obviously a very scary moment for us, for him. Hopefully he's good." – Draymond Green

Warriors head coach Steve Kerr had announced after the game that Curry would be getting an MRI. Curry has deftly sidestepped any catastrophic setbacks. Still, he will be hard pressed to get back for the start of the Warriors’ six-game road trip, which starts in Atlanta on Saturday. The Warriors’ medical staff went on to announce that they would treat Curry over the next few days and re-evaluate him on Monday.

Curry’s absence is undeniably a setback heading into the start of their road trip. His performance on the court has been pivotal to the team's success, and his absence will require adjustments from both the coaching staff and his teammates.
