The Pittsburgh Steelers are currently in Ireland for a brief stay, where they face the challenges of a tight schedule. Head coach Mike Rooney wanted to be clear that the team’s trip was a “football decision,” when they decided to travel. This is the catch – They will only get a temporary permanence in the country.
The Steelers have landed in Ireland! They’ll be housed at a self-contained hotel, only an hour outside of Dublin’s city center, with practice fields right on the grounds. Rooney seeks to have the squad spend more extended periods in the country. We shared governance Conference Quarterback Aaron Rodgers had this to say about the opportunity. For his own part, he noted that he knows for a fact that beer tastes much different on tap in Ireland vs. in the States.
Rodgers, whose family has heritage in both Ireland and Scotland, expressed that he had dreamed for years about coming to Ireland. He reminisced about his previous experiences in Northern Ireland and said that he was looking forward to tasting some of the local beer on this trip.

Rodgers was determined to showcase the breathtaking beauty of Ireland through the photographs he’s been captivated by. He quickly shared his enthusiasm for traveling throughout the country with their precious few days off.
“Good to get out, see some things. It’s a beautiful country, it seems like, from pictures.” – Aaron Rodgers
The Steelers are purposed and future-minded, they have a heavy agenda to pay off while completing their on-field march. They value the chance to experience their culture and find a home-training base in such a picturesque part of Ireland.
