Spurs Board Dismisses Brooklyn Earick’s Takeover Proposal

Brooklyn Earick, 41, entrepreneur and former DJ. More recently, he led a well‐publicized consortium that bid to buy England’s Tottenham Hotspur. The consortium needs to confirm by 5 PM on October 24 that it has a firm commitment to go ahead with the offer. The Spurs board of governors promptly shot down that idea. They strongly hinted that they continue to believe in the club’s direction under their long-term majority owners the ENIC Group.

Earick created Algorith Capital—as a limited investment fund—which has made headlines for acquiring notable amounts. He is known for his cutthroat business acumen and intimidating pedigree. Parsons had signed a deal with Warner Records back in the day. After that he went to NASA, before fully immersing himself in sports and technology with his company, Redacted RnD. Earick met fierce opposition when seeking to purchase Tottenham. This challenge approached even with his varied resume, notably including failed negotiations to buy Maserati’s Formula E team.

Spurs Board Responds Firmly

Spurs board expressed their intent loud and clear. They claimed to have officially “received and unequivocally rejected” the unsolicited proposal that Earick’s consortium had submitted. In a statement on behalf of the board, Peter Charrington, the club’s vice chair, reaffirmed the club’s stance.

“The board of the club and ENIC reconfirm that Tottenham Hotspur is not for sale and ENIC is not looking to sell its stake in the club.” – Peter Charrington

The Lewis family has repeatedly stated over this time that the club was not for sale. It is easy to ignore this rejection, but that would not adequately represent their decades-old position. As one very close family member told us, that meant the family has always been all in. They clearly made it known that Earick’s desire did not waver their determination.

“This unsolicited and unnecessary interest does nothing to change the family’s resolve and commitment to do whatever it takes to drive success on the pitch. The club is not for sale.” – A source close to the Lewis family

Background on Brooklyn Earick

Brooklyn Earick Also an accomplished musician and technologist, Brooklyn’s wide-ranging accolades and accomplishments include national competition in mixed martial arts. Having made his reputation as a DJ, he moved into business, creating Algorith Capital and Redacted RnD. His time in venture capital has made him one of the highest-profile champions for inclusive investment in the capital markets.

Earick’s prior involvement in high-profile projects, such as discussions surrounding Maserati’s Formula E team, showcased his ambition within the sporting realm. Unfortunately, these efforts have not yet led to successful acquisitions in practice.

Earick, who has engaged with the Lewis family in the past, made a misstep with his offer. It’s noncompliant with the club’s mission. In fact, whenever he’s mentioned them historically, he’s said nice things about how well he’s worked with them.

“I’ve said two or three times before, I’ve had some interactions with the Lewis family. It’s been good.” – Thomas Frank

The Future for Tottenham Hotspur

So maybe it’s no surprise that Tottenham Hotspur has already rejected the takeover proposal. Our club is still very much in the stable hands of the Lewis family and ENIC Group. That said, their commitment to ensuring success on the pitch while questions linger on ownership continues to grow.

His board is very keen on projecting stability within the club. This is especially true for its competitive landscape, as they know just how crucial this time is. Earick’s rejection of the club’s winning strategic and long-term vision serves as a timely reminder.
