Three men face indictments for their involvement in the burglary of Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow's home. Jordan Francisco Quiroga Sanchez, 22, Bastian Alejandro Orellana Morales, 23, and Sergio Andres Ortega Cabello, 38, have been charged in connection to the crime. The individuals, all Chilean nationals, are alleged members of a South American theft group. Initially detained on January 10, they now confront felony charges in Ohio following a federal grand jury indictment issued on February 3.
The U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of Ohio revealed the indictment, while U.S. Attorney Kenneth L. Parker emphasized the ongoing nature of the investigation. Federal officials are pursuing the case, suggesting the defendants could be part of a larger criminal network targeting various districts.
"Our investigation remains ongoing as these individuals seem to be the alleged tip of the iceberg of South American Theft Groups committing crimes throughout our district and elsewhere." – U.S. Attorney Kenneth L. Parker
Authorities seized luxury luggage and stolen jewelry belonging to Burrow during the investigation. These items were among the evidence cited by federal officials to support the charges against Sanchez, Morales, and Cabello. Furthermore, Cabello reportedly erased photographs of stolen goods and images showing the back of Burrow's home.
The federal grand jury in Cincinnati formally charged the three men, linking them to the broader operations of South American theft groups. This connection has prompted a deeper investigation into similar criminal activities across the region.
As the legal proceedings advance, the case underscores the challenges law enforcement faces in addressing transnational crime networks. The indictment serves as a critical step in dismantling these criminal organizations and represents a coordinated effort between federal authorities to bring those responsible to justice.
