That incredibly talented QB Shedeur Sanders inexplicably went undrafted in the second and third rounds of the 2025 NFL Draft. Finally, the Cleveland Browns saw an opportunity and traded up to grab him with the 144th pick in the 5th round, giving him a fresh start. His ride through the draft would not be a smooth one. Perhaps the most iconic moment was a prank call from an individual impersonating Mickey Loomis, the general manager of the New Orleans Saints.
On Friday, Shedeur Sanders was a spectator of that draft with equal parts enthusiasm and trepidation. For the entirety of the week leading up to the draft, he had a Boost Mobile phone that was strictly and solely for NFL personnel. Then, out of nowhere, he received a phone call from someone posing as Loomis. The impersonator then hangs up suddenly, leaving Sanders stunned and demanding, “What does that mean?”
