Seattle Orcas face a crushing defeat against the Texas Super Kings. WV Raman’s men were bowled out for a paltry 60 runs in just 13.5 overs. They suffered the worst defeat in their T20 history by 93 runs in the game. This was happening during the Major League Cricket (MLC) tournament as they were pursuing a target of 154 runs.
The Orcas were matched up against a single bat. What compounded their plight was the pitch that provided bizarre bounce as the unchanging constant during the contest. Their total of 60 is the second-lowest score in MLC history, mirroring their continued struggles this season. Having lost both their matches so far, the Seattle Orcas find themselves in last place on the six-team table.
Texas Super Kings comes out on top as best of the field. This undefeated record gave them claim over second place each having achieved victory all three of their games. Others such as David Warner, Kyle Mayers, Heinrich Klaasen and Sikandar Raza didn’t set the scene alight. Aaron Jones and Jasdeep Singh went to double figures and added valuable runs for their team’s eventual total of 142.
The heartbreaking upended season leaves the Seattle Orcas looking for answers as they look ahead to their next task at hand. The troubling trend of the team’s failure to establish connections and create quality chances has been a cause for concern among fans and analysts this year.
