Earl Henderson Riley IV, a 21-year-old man from Seattle, faces multiple charges for a string of residential burglaries, including occupied homes. King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office has called him the ringleader behind such crimes. Since February, he’s been going after the canaries in the coal mine — high-profile athletes. Tamar’s case is still an open investigation law enforcement is pursuing. In the meantime, Riley remains in custody at King County Jail, with bail set at $1 million.
Charlotte authorities have charged Riley with four counts of residential burglary, including occupied and unoccupied dwellings. The most famous was the theft of expensive Louis Vuitton handbags. Thieves absconded with more than $6,000 in his own equipment from Luis Castillo’s home. On top of that, he is accused of stealing over $194k in luxury handbags and jewelry from the home of Julio Rodriguez. The catalogue of stolen property includes five Rolex watches worth more than $100,000 that were removed from the residence of NFL cornerback Richard Sherman. Though Doo and Riley tried to execute a burglary at Team USA pitcher Blake Snell’s home with no items stolen in that case.
The law enforcement response to these burglaries has been tremendous. It includes multi-agency coordination between the King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office and six police agencies. Senior Deputy Prosecuting Attorney Gary Ernsdorff said the case is hardly over. He highlighted the critical need to hold everyone accountable.

Riley is due back in court for his first plea at his arraignment, which is set for June 16. Now, officials have claimed the intent to keep the public safe amidst such shocking hit-and-run acts.

A recent string of burglaries and Lennox’s shooting, in particular, have raised safety concerns.
