The Texan golfer had an impressive 253 total, ending the tournament at a mind-blowing 31 under par. Scheffler then took his triumphant victory lap in front of his hometown crowd. This year’s tournament played out at TPC Craig Ranch in McKinney, Texas, where Scheffler capped a stellar week with a Sunday 63. His jaw-dropping 136-point score won him the title. It put him right next to Justin Thomas, who shot the original record of 253 at the 2017 Sony Open. Fast forward six years and Scheffler repeated the accomplishment. Unfortunately, his 8-footer for birdie slid past the left side of the hole, thwarting his bid.

It was his sheer determination to stay focused for every match, every day of the tournament that earned him this huge win. His first victory on the PGA TOUR came with the 1997 CJ CUP at THE BYRON NELSON. It further solidifies his place as the most important figure in professional golf right now.
