Rodgers Set to Start Against Bills After Wrist Injury Recovery

Aaron Rodgers, the long-time star quarterback of the Green Bay Packers, is raring to get back in action. Returning from a left wrist fracture he sustained during a game against the Cincinnati Bengals two Sundays ago, he’ll take on the Buffalo Bills this Sunday. After one week of concentrated rehearsal Rodgers has been that much better. His time spent in a black wrist stabilizer has increased hope with fans and teammates.

Rodgers dropped the wrist injury in the second quarter of the Bengals game and did not practice on Wednesday. Still, the fact that he was a full go in Thursday and Friday practices suggests things are headed in the right direction with his recovery. Steelers coach Mike Tomlin said Rodgers was cleared for both practices and had no restrictions. Both KC and Reid are very optimistic about his availability for this week’s game.

Earlier in the week, Rodgers said that his return to action depended on whether he could protect himself while playing. He admitted it wasn’t easy to rehearse with a cast on his wrist. He knew it was necessary for his own protection.

“With the cast, there’s limitations for sure,” – Aaron Rodgers

At first, Rodgers was even uneasy receiving snaps under center. Within days, he progressed rapidly by holding the football with his left hand and throwing passes with his right in practice. This adaptation is a testament to his resolve to move past the injury and help guide his team back to greatness.

Rodgers’ original status for last weekend’s action was questionable, though he ended up sitting out entirely. The lack of his presence hasn’t diminished his determination – Jake is determined to end this season on a high note.

“But for him to want to come back and finish off this season and play this game is just a testament to who he is,” – Troy Fautanu

The Packers’ coaching staff remains vigilant in monitoring Rodgers’ progress throughout the week. Atlanta Falcons head coach Arthur Smith echoed this sentiment, pointing towards the need for honest and flexible communication when working with players who are fighting through injury.

“Those things are communications. He’s a veteran, same as last week, and we’ll see how the week goes. Again, that’s other things that you can problem solve,” – Arthur Smith

Rodgers’ leadership and experience will be absolutely critical this week as the Packers get ready to host the Buffalo Bills. His capacity to take care of the injury is essential. That’ll be key for the team’s success come Sunday as he’s still playing at an extremely high level.
