To put this in football terms, the NFL is already planning for the 2025 season. Here are a few promising players who are getting buzz as breakout candidates! New standout prospects like Jalen Odunze and Marvin Harrison Jr. are set to take the spotlight. Each one of them is poised to make major impacts on their respective teams. We have discussed with Ben Johnson running the show on the offense side this may be the best avenue for the young talent to develop.
The NFL landscape is ever-changing, and this upcoming season promises intrigue as teams look to capitalize on their young stars. The combinations of new coaching strategies, player development, and roster changes are setting the stage for an exciting year ahead.
A New Offensive Vision
Ben Johnson takes charge of the offense this season, bringing fresh strategies and a vision that could enhance the team’s performance. His leadership will be important, as he aims to help groom new talent and get the most from familiar faces.
Jalen Odunze would be an amazing addition as one of the first prospects under this new regime. Here is the commission announcing that he was the No. 9 overall selection in the 2024 NFL draft. His impact performance has rapidly carved him out a nice niche as the under-the-radar prospect’s favorite in this elite pass-catching group that includes Moore, Loveland, Burden III, and Swift. With this talented new cast of pass catchers, Lewis is poised to develop a dynamic aerial attack capable of stretching and torturing opposing defenses.
Odunze’s skills on the field suggest that he will be a focal point in Johnson’s game plan. With his combination of size, speed, and route-running ability, he has the potential to become a game-changer for his team. The continuing aid around him from veterans will only serve to boost his growth, as he gets accustomed to the pro game.
The Quest for Consistency
While new talents emerge, veterans like Mike Clay face their own challenges as they strive for improvement in production and consistency. Clay’s performance will be certainly interesting to watch as he looks to make himself a clear piece of this offense. His capacity to evolve and improve his game will be important for the team’s individual and collective achievements.
Young guns such as Patrick Mahomes tell a very different story. Mahomes had more games with 17.7 or more points than other players last season, underscoring his elite status in fantasy football. This lofty degree of play creates a difficult bar, if not for himself then for the players around him, including Odunze.
Meanwhile, Caleb Williams returns for Year 2 and all of the buzzy hype. His grace through these profound transitions is admirable. A new head coach/playcaller, three new O-linemen and two new pass catchers should signal an exciting season ahead. The pressure is on Williams to lead effectively while building chemistry with Harrison and other teammates.
Promising Developments Ahead
IMG Academy wide receiver Marvin Harrison is another five-star overall prospect making waves ahead of the upcoming new season. Now seen as something of a blue-chip prospect, he should continue to take a significant step forward in his sophomore campaign. It’s his relationship with quarterback Kyler Murray that should improve drastically, and if it does, we could see some awfully productive results on the turf.
Harrison’s performance cycled widely during the last campaign. With the strong foundation he built during his rookie year, he has a solid launching point for continued future growth. He’s learning his craft and developing a chemistry with Murray. Fans should definitely be excited by what’s coming in their offensive approach!
Maye’s lack of usage last year—he played in only 10 full games—did not lessen his upside. He scored a minimum of 17.7 fantasy points in each of those seven games. This perfect performance under pressure shows that he’s more than capable of doing so. As he prepares for the 2023 season, that’s especially true as being healthy is of the utmost importance. He not only has to parlay it into high-end production.
