The Super Bowl continues to captivate audiences across the United States, with the 2024 game marking a significant milestone in viewership. The Kansas City Chiefs secured a thrilling 25-22 overtime victory against the San Francisco 49ers, drawing an average of 123.7 million viewers on CBS, Nickelodeon, Univision, and various streaming platforms. This event, which was the third consecutive year to average over 100 million viewers, underscores the enduring appeal of America's biggest sporting spectacle.

Since 2014, the Super Bowl has been televised in Spanish for U.S. audiences, and this year was no exception. Telemundo and Fox Deportes attracted an impressive 1.87 million viewers for their Spanish-language broadcast. The game aired on Fox, Fox Deportes, and Telemundo and was available for streaming on Tubi and the NFL's digital platforms. According to Tubi's first-party data and Adobe Analytics, a substantial 14.5 million people tuned in via streaming services, with 13.6 million opting for Tubi's free coverage.

This year marks the first time Nielsen measured out-of-home viewership across all states except Hawaii and Alaska. These ratings also incorporate data from smart TVs in addition to traditional cable and satellite set-top boxes. The NFL playoffs leading up to the Super Bowl averaged 35.2 million viewers during the first three weekends, reflecting a 9% decrease from the previous year's record-breaking numbers.

Despite fluctuating playoff viewership, the Super Bowl reached a pinnacle audience of 137.7 million during the second quarter, from 8 to 8:15 p.m. ET. Notable attendees included former President Donald Trump and pop icon Taylor Swift, adding to the game's star-studded allure. Moreover, Kendrick Lamar's halftime show attracted an unprecedented 133.5 million viewers, setting a new record for the most-watched Super Bowl halftime performance. This marked a 3% increase from Usher's performance last year.

The Philadelphia Eagles' commanding 40-22 victory over the Kansas City Chiefs contributed to a record-setting audience of 127.7 million U.S. viewers across television and streaming platforms. This achievement further solidifies the Super Bowl's status as a dominant force in American entertainment, particularly after overcoming previous years of reduced viewership due to cord-cutting trends.
