Real Madrid Pursues Bournemouth Defender Dean Huijsen Amid Rising Interest

Real Madrid are making a surprise Real Madrid to sign highly rated 19-year-old defender Dean Huijsen. They have already begun negotiating with Bournemouth to bring him home permanently. Huijsen has been on phenomenal form in his debut Premier League season. The Spanish giants are said to be prepared to trigger his £50m release clause.

The young defender made his way to the south coast after signing for Bournemouth from Juventus for a reported fee of £12 million in July 2023. From that moment, his market value has capped up, being perfectly synchronized with his stunning appearances across the pitch. So far this season, Huijsen has made one first-team appearance for Juventus. He already has 13 caps for Bournemouth, where he’s established himself as an indispensable fixture in the Premier League.

Real Madrid is not the only club looking to poach Huijsen from under PSV’s nose. The defender has attracted interest from Premier League rivals Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool as well as Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich. Perhaps most importantly, though, Huijsen’s camp has deep ties to Chelsea that should place them in a position to have the strongest negotiating power.

Five Premier League clubs have held advanced talks over a possible move with Huijsen’s agents. Teams from LaLiga and the Bundesliga have been party to these negotiations as well. Despite the growing speculation surrounding his future, Huijsen remains composed and focused on his current club duties.

“I don’t really focus on it, now is not the time, I’m just focused on finishing the season well.” – Dean Huijsen

His thrilling play from the beginning of the season continues to light up the Premier League. He’s already made history at Bournemouth, but the exact terms of his historic achievement are unknown. His determination, hunger, and loyalty to his club have been on full display through the season.

Bournemouth’s hierarchy know their Dutch prodigy is a hot property, and the reality that his release clause will come into play. If the club isn’t making money, they’re really in a pickle. Regardless, they’ll need to consider their best course of action once a substantial offer arrives — whether from Real Madrid or other suitors.

In truth, Huijsen has been open about his desire to remain with Bournemouth despite the transfer speculation. He stated, “I’m just focused on making history at this club,” highlighting his desire to contribute meaningfully to his team’s success.

Additionally, he remarked on his approach to media speculation: “My dad is my agent, he fixes everything, I don’t read anything, I don’t think about it too much, I’m just focusing on my football and working hard.” This final statement speaks volumes about Huijsen’s maturity and professionalism at just 19 years of age.
