The Baltimore Ravens have secured their offensive line by re-signing their starting left tackle, Ronnie Stanley, to a three-year deal valued at $60 million. This agreement, finalized recently, ties Stanley to the Ravens through the coming seasons and ranks him eighth in average annual salary among left tackles. After overcoming a career-altering left ankle injury in 2020, Stanley has returned to form, marking his best season since the setback.
Last season, Stanley demonstrated remarkable resilience and skill, playing in every game for the first time in his career. He ranked 12th among tackles in pass block win rate, achieving an impressive 92.5%. Despite allowing five sacks last season, Stanley's performance was pivotal as part of the Ravens' top-ranked offense. His leadership continued to earn him respect within the team, further solidifying his indispensable role on the field.
Stanley's journey with the Ravens began in 2016 when he became their starting left tackle. Over his career, he has missed 36 games due to injuries affecting his ankle, shoulder, and knee. However, his commitment to the team remained unwavering. Notably, he accepted a $7.5 million salary reduction last offseason, choosing to stay with Baltimore despite a down season in 2023. His dedication paid off as he delivered a standout performance reminiscent of his 2019 All-Pro season, where he became the first Ravens left tackle to achieve such an honor since Hall of Famer Jonathan Ogden.
The Ravens have now successfully retained four offensive line starters from last season's leading offense. Stanley's presence is crucial as he has allowed only 28 sacks in 104 starts throughout his career. The two-time Pro Bowl player was expected to draw significant interest in the open market due to his consistent performance and leadership qualities.
