Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson has once again returned to the team’s injury report. On that front, this time he’s battled with an ankle injury. This new disappointment comes on the heels of a physically and emotionally draining game versus the Cleveland Browns. Jackson was forced to battle in this one, as he was sacked five times, four of those by defensive stud Myles Garrett.
>And on Sunday, he was unable to get into a groove. He didn’t throw a single touchdown pass, threw two picks and posted a dreadful passer rating of 47.6. This rating is his second worst of his eight-year career. Even more concerning, as the season wears on, it points to a bigger issue in his performance. Jackson’s been through difficult waters this entire season. He ended up missing eight practices and sitting out three games due to hamstring issues.
Even with the odds stacked against him, Jackson persevered. He did come back from last week’s knee soreness and ended up playing in the Ravens’ 23-16 win against the Browns. Despite being active on Sunday, he didn’t practice on Wednesday, now for the second week in a row. Coach John Harbaugh commented on Jackson’s absence, noting that it mirrors last week’s situation when Jackson missed practice but ultimately played in the game.
“I know it’s Lamar, it’s our quarterback. I understand how important it is, and it wasn’t his best interest [to] practice today. And we’ll see where we’re at [Thursday],” – John Harbaugh
This season, Jackson has been a terror, with 3.2 sacks per game to date. This dangerous rate is the highest of his administration. In those past two games, he’s only completing 57.4 percent of his passes and averaging just 184.5 yards per contest. These startling statistics underscore an acute need for progress. The Ravens aren’t going to settle as they approach their offense’s final lap this season.
With the Baltimore Ravens heading into their Week 15 matchup against the Cleveland Browns, Jackson’s status is still up in the air. She explained that #7’s high ankle sprain needs careful observation in the next few days. With his performance under scrutiny and injury concerns lingering, fans and analysts alike will be watching closely to see how he rebounds from this latest challenge.
