Rangers Set for Showdown with Dundee as New Coaching Team Takes Charge

The Rangers will be back in action this Saturday. Next, they’ll take on Dundee in an exhilarating Premiership showdown, which will be broadcasted live on Sky Sports. The squad will surely be looking to continue from their surprise 3-2 win on the road against Celtic prior to the international break. Barry Ferguson’s management had Rangers riding a crest of enthusiastic form. Since Philippe Clement was sacked in February, the team have won three of their four Premiership games under interim head coach Steven Naismith.

Their dramatic victories in recent weeks, capped off by an incredible comeback against Fenerbahce, all but locked up their progression through the Europa League knockout stage. Nevertheless, Rangers remain 13 points behind their Old Firm rivals Celtic, with the title race widely regarded as over bar the mathematics. From keeping the team rolling along on their high momentum wave across the league. They are preparing for their Europa League quarter-final against Athletic Bilbao next month.

Something big and exciting is brewing over in the NRDC Rangers camp! Newly appointed coaches, Neil McCann, Billy Dodds and Allan McGregor have been signed in until the end of the current season. McCann, who was Dundee’s manager when they last defeated Rangers in 2017, brings valuable experience to Ferguson’s coaching staff.

Neil McCann emphasized the importance of adaptability within the coaching team, stating:

“But we come together as a coaching team, make the decision on how we’re going to go and we set the boys out like that, but with the knowledge that we’re not all the same type of people and we don’t all share the same opinion at times.” – Neil McCann

That positional flexibility has been important in Rangers’ attack during this playoff run. McCann further explained:

“That’s where adaptability can come in and hopefully that’s reflective in how the games have gone for us.” – Neil McCann

As part of his role, McCann focuses on providing players with relevant information and preparing them for different scenarios on the field.

“My job as part of the coaching team here is to prepare the guys and give them all the information that I feel is relevant.” – Neil McCann

We believe the coaching staff is 100% committed to getting the right systems in place for fast breakouts and attack style hockey. McCann’s comments should underscore the buzz around their dynamic, offense-first approach.

“I’ve heard lots of people say that they can see changes within, maybe they see a different style of play in terms of how I’ve tried to implement how we go forward quickly. We try to penetrate quickly.” – Neil McCann

Looking ahead to Saturday’s match, McCann expressed hope that Dundee’s streak against Rangers remains unchanged:

“I absolutely hope that’ll be the same stat by the end of the game on Saturday night” – Neil McCann
