Rangers FC are doing everything they can to get 17-year-old loanee Mikey Moore from Tottenham Hotspur on board with their first team. They are getting ready for Tuesday’s thrilling contest against a strong Czech Republic team. Moore is still waiting on international clearance but has already made a big impact during his short time with the squad. Sadly, he won’t be making it for the Taysiders’ visit this weekend. Unfortunately, he was injured only minutes after coming onto the field.
Rangers’ head coach Russell Martin said he was hopeful Moore would be clear in time to play in the trip. “We’re still not quite there with Mikey, which is frustrating for him and for us,” Martin stated, emphasizing the young player’s eagerness to contribute to the team’s success. As he nears his 18th birthday, Moore’s upside still has the fireworks popping around the club.
Moore’s fate still hangs in the balance. On the flip side, Martin affirmed that no bids have materialized for Hamza Igamane, who’s had a tough go this season as well. Igamane was not able to start practice until two weeks in due to a visa issue. Right now, he’s running just to keep pace with the rest of the team. “He’s got on with it and is working hard with his English and everything else,” Martin noted. The coach highlighted that both Igamane and Thelo Aasgaard are making progress on their paths back to full fitness, stating, “They’ve both made good steps in the last few days.”
Rangers are coming off a comfortable 3-0 win over Viktoria Plzen. It was this competitive spirit that carried them through the season and that led to this upset win. Martin addressed the new realities of player communications and media relations. At the same time, the problem of insider team leaks has come up.
Picture this as explained to me when I showed up to the stadium, because I don’t have social media. In reference to this leaking of advance team news, he once said, “I think that’s horrible. He added, “It’s the modern game. No one likes to feel left out and they take their frustrations out on agents, friends and family. Somehow, this positive news gets to the capitol in record time. Despite this potential concern, Martin was somewhat unconcerned about the leaks, stating, “I’m not going to overly stress about the team being leaked.”
Rangers are preparing to welcome their next challengers to Ibrox. The coaching staff’s main priority is to build up the roster, and all the players should be healthy and active as they prepare to compete. The club aims to continue its momentum and integrate younger talents like Moore into their strategy, hoping that these developments will enhance their performance in upcoming matches.
