During Monday's game, Higbee tied his season high with five receptions, all achieved in the first quarter. His impressive performance included five catches for 58 yards, making him the game's leading receiver at the time of his injury. Unfortunately, Higbee had to be taken to a local hospital after he began "spitting up a little bit of blood," raising concerns about his health. The incident cut short what could have been a standout night for the player.
Monday marked only Higbee's fourth appearance this season after he returned from tearing his ACL and MCL during the Rams' loss to the Detroit Lions in the wild-card round of the 2023 NFC playoffs. His comeback has been significant for the team, as expressed by Head Coach Sean McVay.
"You felt his presence early. He was on pace to have a really big night, and he still made a huge contribution even just playing a quarter. I am hopeful and optimistic based on my dialogue with him that his expectations are he's going to be ready to roll against Philly," said Sean McVay.
In his limited appearances this regular season, Higbee has secured 13 catches for 124 yards and two touchdowns. His contributions have been vital to the Rams' offensive strategies, proving pivotal in their recent successes. The team's victory over the Minnesota Vikings highlighted Higbee's potential impact when healthy.
