In an edge of the seat finish at the IPL, Rajasthan Royals thrashed Royal Challengers Bangalore. Their efforts rocked the opponent as they propelled to a dazzling 168 runs for the loss of only 3 wickets. The match was a demonstration of peak performances from all players on the court, who came together to form a well-oiled machine that propelled them to victory.
One other worth mentioning was the overall best performance from Yashasvi Jaiswal, who scored 57 runs before being given out leg before wicket (lbw). His early return didn’t throw off the team’s groove, with captain Sanju Samson making his return to the T20 squad count by leading the innings. Samson proved crucial, amassing a match-winning 95 runs. Today he was left perplexed by J Sharma off Hardik Pandya’s bowling.
Even though Devdutt Padikkal’s outing was short, his T20I debut had the perfect finish. Riyan Parag made 36 runs before Virat Kohli made a catch off Dayal’s bowling. The Royals still had plenty of scoring momentum. Dhruv Jurel and Shimron Hetmyer contributed significantly as well, not out with 55 and 57 runs respectively, taking their side’s aggregate to a solid 206.
A quick glance at the match stats would show that it wasn’t the easiest day for the bowlers of Royal Challengers Bangalore. Bhuvneshwar Kumar had the worst outing of his life, getting carted for 71 runs in his 3 overs, failing to take a single wicket. Dayal’s performance was just as disappointing, as he didn’t bowl a single over and finished wicketless. Hazlewood had a rough time, leaking 66 runs in his 41.2 overs and not taking a single wicket. Pandya succeeded in doing so, but still ended up with 25 runs for no wicket to show for his efforts.
The Extras were all of little help, the team’s third-leading scorer was 5 runs from two no-ball wides and three leg-byes. This focus increased the impact of Rajasthan Royals’ efficiency and created stronger narrative around their success in the match.
