What 2023 Masters champion Jon Rahm did was remarkable The Club at Chatham Hills. He closed with a stunning 9-under par 65, carrying his team, Legion XIII, to win the LIV Golf team final. This past edition of this event saw Legion XIII take the title home. It gave a high five to Rahm for successfully defending his LIV Golf season points title.
Caleb Surratt keyed Legion XIII with a spectacular 64, which helped propel the team to a strong score. Tom McKibbin and Anirban Lahiri both ripped up a 65 on Friday, and were joined in the 66 parade by Tyrrell Hatton and more. Their combined contributions enabled Legion XIII to come storming back to tie the Crushers at 20 under par.
On the opposing side, Bryson DeChambeau delivered a stellar performance with a score of 62, while Paul Casey finished with a solid 65. Charles Howell III rounded out his team with a final score of 68. Unfortunately for them, their performance fell just short of the victory.
With the tournament’s conclusion in sight, Jon Rahm and Tyrrell Hatton both birdied the last two holes of regulation. This 59 was the culmination of an outstanding performance and created a high stakes playoff against DeChambeau and Casey. The playoff was an exciting second extra hole. With world-class talent Rahm and Hatton producing world-class heroics, both finding birdies to win the title.
That said, no one could have predicted the ridiculously awesome tournament run for Rahm. Just a week ago, he shot a staggering 60 at the LIV Golf season points title event in Indiana. Continuing to build on his incredible performance, he created a gap in points that made him the top contender in the series. His ice-cold 6-foot putt for the winning birdie in the playoff highlighted not only his skill, but toughness and clutch nature.
