Projected Touchdown Leaders: Nine Players Set for a Scoring Surge in 2025

With the 2025 NFL season just around the corner, here are some of the players most likely to take a big step forward in their touchdown numbers. Analysts have rigorously studied historical performance and future projections. They ranked nine players who they anticipate reaching the end zone more often compared to last year. Tight ends and wide receivers particularly shine among these players. Each of them have the opportunity to break out in a big way and rack up tons of fantasy football points.

Despite being a decent receiving option, Jake Ferguson didn’t find the end zone even once last season. He’s due for a huge breakout for 2025, with a predicted three touchdown performance. Ferguson didn’t score a touchdown last season, but he led the nation in targets among players who went TD-less. This indicates that he was a frequent participant in offensive plays. If he can translate those chances into scores, he will be a real boon to fantasy rosters.

Hunter Henry, the other tight end on the team, caught only two touchdowns last year. He’s got a rosy outlook for 2025, with a projection of five touchdowns! Henry is perhaps best remembered for his amazing ability to find the end zone. In 2016, he totaled eight touchdowns, then nine in 2021 and six so far in 2023. His 92 targets from last year combined with his scoring pedigree make him a prime candidate to bounce back in a big way.

Jaylen Waddle makes his way into the discussion after recording two touchdowns a season ago. His best-case scenario for this season is five touchdowns. Over the last two years, Waddle has punched it in for six touchdowns. He came in below his projected 6.7 total touchdowns. With an increase in scoring expected, he’ll be out to prove that he’s seized the opportunities and become the player he was always expected to be.

Although Trey McBride only scored three touchdowns last season, he’s projected to score six touchdowns in 2025. Although he wasn’t the most productive tight end last season, finishing second in targets, catches, yards, end zone targets, and fantasy points. McBride’s breakout season is an encouraging sign that he may remain a steady outlet for scoring chances going forward.

Travis Kelce, the fantasy darling of the last decade+, posted his career worst three touchdowns last year. All of these touchdowns came on only six targets to the end zone. He is expected to come back strong with five touchdowns in 2025. Kelce’s established track record suggests that he could return to form and reclaim his status as a top fantasy performer.

George Pickens, despite having a career-low three touchdowns last season and 12 end zone targets, is projected to reach eight touchdowns in 2025. This significant increase reflects expectations that he will capitalize on his red zone opportunities more effectively than in previous seasons.

After a three-TD last year, Rome Odunze is projected to hit seven touchdowns next season. Odunze drew 13 end zone targets last year, good for 12th most among receivers. Yet he could easily double his scoring rate this year.

And finally, from his historical performance to his reasons for being signaled out as weapon number one, Henry is typically found in great scoring positions. His past years’ production proves that he can convert targets into TDs. We look forward to seeing what he brings to T4America as the new season develops!
