Australia’s captain Pat Cummins, pictured, said he felt “good to go” for the third Ashes Test and boy, will it be exciting, as it’s going to be played at the Adelaide Oval. After experiencing a back injury of his own, Cummins has completely healed and is set to return to action. After missing the first two Tests of the series, he’s back on track now.
The 32-year-old quick took to Instagram to share his excitement after a successful rehabilitation period. He had stressed that he will get one last practice in the nets. After that, he will travel to Adelaide for the exhibition game.
“I’ll have one more bowl tomorrow in the nets and then we’ll go to Adelaide and have a bowl there,” – Pat Cummins
Cummins played his Test debut at the tender age of only 18 years old in 2011. Since then, he’s built quite the resume as one of the top bowlers on the planet. With a truly amazing average of 309 wickets in just 71 Tests, he has a phenomenal career bowling average of 21.19. Past dominance aside, his recent form has been nothing short of extraordinary, especially at the Adelaide Oval, a ground he’s found great success in the past.
The same selectors deliberated long and hard on reintroducing Cummins for the Brisbane Test. Ultimately, they chose not to, worried that his injury could have become permanently exacerbated. Cummins admitted that he didn’t think it was right to put his fellow bowlers under pressure by going back too quickly.

Steve Smith has been captaining the Australian side in Cummins’ absence. Home supporters and teammates alike will be glad to see Cummins back in the fold for the deciding third Test. From here on out, they can’t stop cheering their captain as he plays his best ball yet!
Looking forward, Cummins expressed confidence in his physical condition, stating that barring any unforeseen setbacks, he anticipates a smooth return to competitive cricket.
