The Carolina Panthers and Houston Texans both celebrated significant victories this week, contributing to their respective winning streaks in the NFL. The Panthers had to fight hard for their victory and came out of the Los Angeles Coliseum with a tight 31-28 win that ended the Rams’ six-game winning streak. The Texans won their fourth straight with a 39-14 stomping of the Indianapolis Colts. On offense and defense, they showed themselves to be formidable.
And, in what may be more unexpected than the result itself, the Colts were shut out of the first quarter against the Texans. This was the first time this season they ran into a drought like that. The Texans further displayed the depth of their dominating defense, preventing the Colts from accumulating any significant points. The matchup concluded with Houston racking up two rushing touchdowns in that contest. Running back Nick Chubb wore the ring first, followed in quick succession by wide receiver Nico Collins.
Panthers Snap Rams’ Streak
The Carolina Panthers’ victory over the Rams not only ended their opponent’s impressive run but highlighted the Panthers’ rising momentum this season. The Panthers proved to be a lethal mixed menace on offense. Running backs Chuba Hubbard and Rico Dowdle each complemented one another, combining for 164 yards on the ground.
In a playful social media post following their victory, the Panthers shared a photo of a “W” shaved onto a ram, captioning it: “Herd the Panthers won.” This playful shot at their rival campus showed the festive spirit surrounding the team’s historic success. In total, they pulled an incredible seven upset victories this season!

Both teams came out strong, with the game turning into a nail-biter, as both teams exchanged leads until the very end. In the end it was the Panthers’ resolve and their home field advantage that carried them through to a hard fought victory.
Texans Maintain Strong Momentum
Or how the Houston Texans have poached on that success. They put in a great offensive effort against the Indianapolis Colts. The Texans rushed for two touchdown scores, establishing dominance in the trenches and ultimately controlling the flow of the game. They controlled the game clock well and provided some head-hunting defensive hits.
The Texans defensive performance played a huge role in their seven-game win streak and subsequent division championship. One, they aggressively thwarted the Colts’ imaginative offensive strategies. This hurried the Colts into crucial mistakes and curtailed their scoring threats for the remainder of the contest. The Texans’ resilience has been a key factor in their recent success, positioning them as serious contenders in the league.
Seahawks Achieve Major Shutout
In another remarkable display of dominance, the Seattle Seahawks secured their first shutout victory since 2015 by overwhelming the Minnesota Vikings. The Seahawks’ D left no prisoners. They were the difference in forcing a whopping five turnovers in the game, including four Max Brosmer interceptions thrown by the Vikings QB.
This decisive victory serves as a reminder of the Seahawks’ defensive strength. More importantly, it establishes a firm precedent for their home games to come this season. They’ve mastered stifling defensive strategies and fast break, run-and-gun offense. This dynamic duo has increased their confidence as they look down the homestretch on their competitive campaign.
