Pakistan Secures Victory Over Zimbabwe in T20 Tri-Series Opener

Pakistan shot to the top of their T20 tri-series after dismantling Zimbabwe with a comprehensive victory, with bat and ball highlights on display. The close encounter, played at the Harare Sports Club, witnessed a splendid fightback from each side before Babar Azam’s men emerged successful in the end.

Sahibzada Farhan commenced the innings for Pakistan but was unable to make a significant impact, scoring just 16 runs before being bowled by Evans. After the dismissal of Farhan, Saim Ayub anchored the innings further, scoring 22 runs. He too succumbed to Zimbabwean bowling as he was caught by Musekiwa then bowled by Cremer.

In a surprising turn of events, Pakistan captain Babar Azam fell for a duck. He had no option to Evans as he fell leg before wicket for just 8 runs, resulting in an empty scoreboard. This early setback could have put pressure on the team, but Fakhar Zaman provided stability with a commendable 44 runs. His innings ended when he was caught behind by Taylor, off the bowling of Ngarava.

Usman Khan would go on to be Pakistan’s savior, scoring 37 not out. Chip in with him was Mohammad Nawaz, who calmly distanced himself to 21 not out and saw his side home. Their partnership was instrumental in helping Pakistan set a challenging total, enabling the Pakistani team to set a formidable score.

Evans was the star for Zimbabwe, taking two vital wickets. At the other, Ngarava and Maposa proved the pick of their bowlers with a wicket each. Zimbabwe was unable to stop Pakistan’s batting wall in full swing.
