It was a sizzling bowling display from Abrar Ahmed. For good measure, he took three wickets and only gave away 19 runs in his four overs. His economy rate of 4.75 played a huge role in Pakistan’s lethal overall bowling performance. Faheem Ashraf gave an accomplished performance by picking one wicket. He only conceded 8 runs in 2 overs for an outstanding economy of just 4.00!
Bangladesh found it difficult to establish any meaningful partnerships across their innings. Tanzid Hasan Tamim was the highest scorer for Bangladesh with 33 runs. Even the other major actors did poorly. Parvez Hossain Emon was able to contribute only 8 runs to the cause, with Litton Das scoring a mere 6.
Only Salman Ali Agha bowled two overs and gave 20 runs. His no wickets meant he was left with an economy rate of 10.00. Hassan Ali and Haris Rauf took 1 wicket each. They both gave up a lot of runs, with Hassan giving up a painful 21 runs and Rauf 23 runs in their two-over spells. This is evidenced by their economy rates being 10.50 and 11.50 for each, respectively.
That game continued to show the strength of the dangerous Pakistan bowling attack as they made quick work of Bangladesh holding them to a measly 127. The guys on Pakistan’s side were the freshest, most energetic group. They added Sahibzada Farhan, Saim Ayub, Mohammad Haris, Salman Ali Agha, Hasan Nawaz, Shadab Khan, Khushdil Shah, Faheem Ashraf, Hassan Ali, Haris Rauf and Abrar Ahmed into the mix. The Bangladeshi squad was an elite team.
