The Indiana Pacers faced off against the Milwaukee Bucks in a pivotal Game 4 that showcased a series of tense moments and critical plays. The exhibition was held at the Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee. Familiar playoff warriors both teams traded blows in a desperate search for control of the playoff series. As the third quarter was coming to an end, the moves stepped up, with major influencers making strong moves.
With just 32 seconds remaining in the third quarter, Myles Turner went to work. In the process, he made a game-changing defensive play by swatting away Kyle Kuzma’s two-foot shot attempt. Her defensive effort opened up opportunities for Turner on offense. He calmly drilled a 15-foot jumper, aided by a brilliant, subtle screen from Pascal Siakam, just 44 seconds into the game. The Pacers’ plan on being patient and waiting for their opportunity to strike paid off as they looked to erase a deficit against their opponent.
The Bucks remained formidable. Needing a response, Giannis Antetokounmpo showed remarkable cool, hitting two free throws with 52 seconds left and putting the Bucks up even further. Kevin Porter Jr. had a chance to really bury the Pacers. Unfortunately for him, he had probably one of the dumbest two-point misses a few seconds earlier. He then missed a driving layup just as Antetokounmpo was hitting his second free throw.
In the last minute of the quarter, those two teams traded buckets up and down the floor. Pascal Siakam managed to convert a driving layup, assisted by Tyrese Haliburton, with just nine seconds left on the clock. After this, Six Dimes’ Andrew Nembhard stepped into a big 27-foot three-pointer assisted by Siakam with 26 seconds left. The Bucks answered right back, with Antetokounmpo converting a layup of his own at 28 seconds.
With the clock winding down to the end of the third quarter, Bobby Portis took it upon himself to change that. With only three seconds remaining, he capped the scoring spree with an acrobatic one-foot layup, courtesy of Kuzma’s vision. Portis would not be so fortunate as he drew the wrath of the officials, picking up a technical foul soon thereafter.
The game saw both teams struggle with discipline as Indiana committed a delay of game violation, shortly followed by Milwaukee receiving a similar infraction. These moments underscored the mounting pressure each team faced as they vied for a crucial win in this tight playoff series.
During the third quarter, both sides played a game of amazing willpower. Turnovers and missed opportunities were the consistent theme on why they flamed out prematurely. As they neared the last quarter, both sides focused in on their target. They wanted to capitalize on that victory and continue their momentum in the playoffs.
