The Orlando Magic have finally, and officially, unveiled their new look for next season. Those new brand logos and uniforms honor the team’s past glories. The organization filed 15 trademark applications on June 3, 2025. These applications span four distinctive designs, showcasing their commitment to incorporating a classic feel while enhancing today’s aesthetic.
Out of the trademark applications, six were for the international logo, and five for the default icon. The international version logo features “Orlando Magic” in white lettering on a black circle with a blue border. This new innovative aesthetic is a radical departure, yet it’s still grounded in the pieces that fans have grown to love.
The new uniforms are described by the Orlando Magic as a “nostalgic tribute to a favorite of the Magic’s fanbase.” The return of pinstripes on three jerseys brings back flashes of seasons gone by and is intended to connect with lifelong fans. For this year’s edition of the logo we worked around a fantastic star trail cascade. The best part in a creative move, a star has replaced the letter “A” in “Orlando” and “Magic” on the jerseys.
All trademarks together add up to 455 different names, but each name contains some reference to a celebrity, helping to solidify the team’s brand identity. In one of those logos, a basketball is set inside of a star. This design reflects the lengths this team will go to show their commitment to their mission.
The unveiling of these new designs emphasizes the Orlando Magic’s focus on “introducing a new generation of Magic basketball,” as stated in their news release. Through this Creative Forces initiative we’re hoping to reach beyond those who have been with us since the beginning and into new audiences. It both honors the team’s legacy and their most important victories to come.
As the season approaches, the excitement surrounding these developments will likely enhance fan engagement and usher in a renewed spirit within the community.
