Nottingham Forest Eyes Wissa as Mbeumo Pursues Manchester United Move

Nottingham Forest have reportedly renewed their attempts to sign Brentford attacker Yoane Wissa as the summer transfer window begins to sizzle. Holy Trinity co-host and fellow Brentford player, Bryan Mbeumo, wishes it was Manchester United. Talk about his move hasn’t gone very far in this regard so far.

Wissa enjoyed an outstanding campaign last term, netting 20 times and registering four assists in 39 outings. His superb form has drawn the attention of multiple clubs. The 28-year-old forward will be 29 in September. He is one of the most versatile players you’ll find and can play in any position along the frontline. Wissa made the switch to Brentford from Lorient in 2021 for £7.2 million and has one year left on his deal as it stands.

As recently as January Nottingham Forest made a £22 million bid for Wissa. Brentford turned down the approach. As of now, the precise worth of Forest’s newly re-energized offer is unknown. Given Wissa’s strong performance last season and his current contract status, it is likely that Brentford will be under pressure to consider offers as the transfer window progresses.

Mbeumo’s dreams of playing for Manchester United are still the crux of the conversation. Negotiations on his transfer have stalled, putting the progress of his situation in limbo. Brentford may have a similar difficult decision to make. Realistically they would need to sell both Wissa and Mbeumo this transfer window at the very least.

Brentford’s higher-ups will probably be worried about the prospect of losing two main assets simultaneously. Any such loss would impact team chemistry and damage play as they move into the upcoming new season. Yet the club’s overall financial position might be more affected by these possible transfers, especially if any of the offers are big enough.

The Premier League is getting ready for what promises to be another thrilling season! Sky Sports 215 live matches including 80 percent of all televised matches. This unique increased exposure has created even more pressure for clubs such as Brentford to have their brightest stars poached, while putting together the most competitive teams possible.
