NFL Week 3 was filled with close games, record-setting performances, and powerful displays of supremacy all over the league. With that in mind, the Los Angeles Chargers have really established themselves as a real dark horse contender. To reach that 3-0 mark, they squeaked one out against the Denver Broncos, 23-20. Go Carolina Panthers on that historic, first-ever black ownership of an NFL team! They achieved their inaugural win of the season with a commanding 30-0 shutout over division rivals the Atlanta Falcons.
In other first round matchups, the Dallas Cowboys had a hard time of it against the Chicago Bears. They lost a heart-wrenching 31-14, falling to 1-2 on the season. The Philadelphia Eagles kept their own winning streak alive. They beat the Los Angeles Rams in a must-win home game by a score of 33-26.
The Minnesota Vikings made quite the statement last week against the Cincinnati Bengals, going all out with an awesome 48-10 beatdown. The San Francisco 49ers faced off against the Arizona Cardinals, securing a narrow win at 16-15, thanks to Eddy Pineiro’s game-winning 35-yard field goal.
The Chicago Bears’ victory over the Cowboys was particularly noteworthy, as they capitalized on Dallas’s defensive lapses. Another standout performance by Jordan Davis was capped off by a blocked field goal attempt. He took it and to everyone’s surprise, returned it 61 yards for a touchdown! Additionally, Isaiah Rodgers became the first player ever to return an interception for a touchdown and a fumble for a touchdown in the same game. He recorded two forced fumbles, further displaying his incredible playmaking versatility.
As Week 3 came to a close, anticipation built for the Sunday night clash between the Kansas City Chiefs and New York Giants. Fans had to be salivating for yet another incredible contest!
