NFL Week 2 Highlights Showcase Stellar Performances and Record-Setting Moments

Jared Goff was the talk of the NFL in Week 2, throwing equaling his career high with five touchdown passes. His amazing performance helped the Detroit Lions to an impressive 52-24 win over the Chicago Bears. Goff did his part, completing 23 of 28 passes for a gaudy 334 yards. His efficiency, precision and skill were in abundant evidence from start to finish on Wednesday. This win was a testament to the overall momentum of Detroit, as this was their 11th straight win after a loss.

In this remarkable game, Goff established a connection with wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown, throwing three touchdown passes to him, a personal career high. St. Brown’s contributions were vital in solidifying the Lions’ dominant performance against their rivals.

Historic Kicks by Brandon Aubrey

At the same time, Brandon Aubrey was making history during an equally exciting cross-state battle between the Dallas Cowboys and New York Giants. With only seconds left in regulation, Aubrey nailed a 64-yard field goal to contend the game and send it in overtime. Later, he capped the Cowboys’ comeback with a 46-yard, walk-off field goal in overtime. Aubrey etched his name in NFL history. As a result, he became the first player to hit a game-tying kick at the end of regulation and then follow that up with a game-winner in overtime all in the same contest.

Aubrey’s flawless evening saw him make all four extra points along with hitting his four field goals. His efforts were instrumental in helping deliver a gritty 30-27 win for the Cowboys against the Giants. He proved his mettle by making big plays under pressure all game long.

Standout Defensive Plays

Most importantly, Fred Warner once again stole the show with his phenomenal defensive prowess. He was the key figure in the San Francisco 49ers’ 26-21 comeback win against the New Orleans Saints. Warner finished with 11 tackles in the game, including seven solo tackles. On top of that, he recorded one tackle for loss, forced one fumble and recovered another. His strip-and-recovery play turned the momentum of the game. That moment electrified the sideline and propelled the 49ers to the lead for good in their victory.

In recent weeks, the New Orleans Saints have made Malik Nabers one of their most impactful offensive weapons. He tallied nine catches, 167 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Nabers fell only four yards short of his career best. In the 4th quarter, he threw one of the greatest 48 yard touchdown bombs you’ll ever see to narrowly land on his team’s side of the scoreboard until the final play.
