The National Football League (NFL) and USAA have announced the finalists for the prestigious 14th annual Salute to Service award. This accolade, which recognizes outstanding contributions to the military community, will honor its recipient at the NFL Honors on February 6. The finalists include Minnesota Vikings running back Aaron Jones, San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle, and Los Angeles Chargers defensive end Morgan Fox. Each was nominated by their respective teams for their exemplary support of the military community.
USAA, in collaboration with the NFL, aims to highlight and honor the efforts of individuals who have made significant contributions to military service members and their families. The nominees were selected from active and retired players, coaches, and team executives across all 32 NFL teams. A combination of fan votes, an NFL internal committee, and USAA determined the finalists.
The recipient of the Salute to Service award will not only receive recognition but will also have a $25,000 donation made in their honor by USAA. This generous contribution will support the official aid societies representing each branch of the military. In addition, the NFL Foundation will match this donation, providing further financial assistance to the recipient's chosen military charity.
