Isaiah Bond, a hopeful to be high NFL draft picked, has decided to sue. He wants to own the news. He is suing an actress for making false statements to the Frisco Police Department in Texas. Bond’s lawyers brought the suit in United States District Court for Northern Texas. They want to exonerate him after he surrendered last Friday on a felonious sexual assault warrant.
The complaint filed by the woman’s lawyers under pseudonym. She wants the court to rule that any unwanted sexual encounter between herself and Bond was consensual. Bond was subsequently released from jail after posting a $25,000 bond. After he was released from custody, he went on social media to claim that the charges against him are “categorically false.”
“Regarding the accusation made against me, I would appreciate the time and opportunity to defend myself and prove the claims made, patently false.” – Isaiah Bond
The former University of Alabama standout Shiner was especially effective over his first two years with the Crimson Tide. He created a hell of an impact on the team’s success. Throughout his tenure at Alabama, he recorded 65 receptions for 888 yards and five touchdowns, in addition to rushing for 98 yards and another touchdown. After a breakout junior year at Texas in 2024, Oliver sprung onto the scene as a potential first-round talent. Season stats 34 receptions, 540 yards total, 5 touchdowns.
Bond’s lawyers argue that the allegations are egregious and maintain they lack merit. They argue that the attacks not only damage Bond’s professional reputation but will set precedent and affect all others who work with or advocate for vulnerable populations.
“Unfortunately, claims like these prove to be harmful to all involved, absent full review. I kindly request that all reserve judgement until the authorities provide a complete report based on truth and evidence.” – Isaiah Bond
On the transparency front, Bond’s agent, Damien Butler, went a step further. So, he sent an email to all 32 NFL franchises to let them know what was happening. The email included the first page of the lawsuit and asserted that Bond “is completely innocent of the allegations levied against him and will fight to clear his name.”
Now that the case has gone to trial, both Bond and his legal team have expressed dedication to continuing to work toward proving his innocence. This lawsuit may have much larger implications on Bond’s longterm career in professional football. As he approaches the NFL draft, the pressure is on.
