NFL Draft Predictions Highlighting Top Prospects and Team Needs

With the NFL Draft just a couple weeks away, NFL scouts and draft analysts are fine-tuning their evaluations on first-round prospects. One of those prospects is Virginia Tech running back Bhayshul Tuten, who’s developed into one of the leading contenders to do just that. His eye-popping display at the Senior Bowl turned heads. On the other hand, his unique versatility at North Dakota State helped put him in that spotlight.

The Minnesota Vikings safety room has been through a lot of changes already and more are on the way. CB is a bit like Bynum. At the same time, Harrison Smith recently celebrated his 36th birthday, so the Vikings needed to inject new blood into their secondary. Analysts are already projecting South Carolina safety Nick Emmanwori as their top pick to help shore up the secondary.

In Tampa Bay, cornerback has become the focus of their moves this offseason. Texas cornerback Jahdae Barron is a home run pick for Tampa Bay. Given the team’s desire to improve its secondary in order to improve its overall defense, Barron is appealing.

Travis Hunter, a dual-threat superstar from Colorado has emerged as one of the most sought after talents in this draft. His ability to excel as both a wide receiver and cornerback makes him a valuable asset for any team looking to strengthen its roster.

Miami is said to be targeting Michigan cornerback Will Johnson. Perhaps the team’s biggest emphasis this offseason was shoring up their terrible defensive backfield, making Johnson’s skill set a perfect fit for what the Dolphins lack. Kenneth Grant is even picking up buzz as a potential mid-Round 1 selection. He’s a defensive tackle who has historic ties to Michigan as well as current ties to Chargers coach Jim Harbaugh.

So besides these prospects, realize that other teams are doing the same strategic evaluations. Missouri defensive tackle Armand Membou would be a terrific pick up for the Jets. His athleticism would make him an ideal candidate for the Panthers offensive line overhaul. Likewise, Michigan’s Mason Graham is projected to land with the Jaguars to help strengthen their front seven.

Walter Nolen, a three-star defensive tackle from Ole Miss, is the Cincinnati Bengals’ current leading target. By adding him to their roster, they hope to shore up their defense. On offense, really keep an eye on Tetairoa McMillan, a wide receiver from Arizona who should be one of the Cowboys’ top targets.

Grey Zabel, an offensive guard from North Dakota State, has become a favorite of the Seattle Seahawks. They are determined to strengthen their offensive beginning up front, and Zabel is the Mac-stylist standout candidate.
