New Audio Content from BBC Sounds Highlights Multilingual Offerings and Cricket Insights

Through increased audio capacity on BBC Sounds, BBC has opened the full roster of radio programming to audiences across the globe in six different languages. Included therein are Cymraeg, Gaeilge, and Gàidhlig which are all now available for streaming on the platform. This campaign intends to highlight and illustrate this diversity, and encourage everyone to appreciate the UK’s linguistic landscape.

Cymraeg on BBC Sounds, and Gaeilge on BBC Sounds. Gàidhlig can be heard on the platform at BBC Sounds. These additions are instrumental in allowing the BBC to fulfill its mission to make its programming inclusive, diverse and reflective of its audiences.

Of course, BBC Sounds is more than just a language content app, and the range of programs about sport — particularly cricket — is impressive. Legendary programming One of the BBC’s most celebrated programs is “Test Match Special,” which still enthralls cricket fans. The latest episode titled “England v India: Another late late show sets up final day” runs for 38 minutes and provides insightful reactions from Lord’s following day four of the match.

On July 13, 2025, BBC Sounds released a special episode of “No Balls: The Grade Cricketer come to play,” featuring hosts Alex Hartley and Kate Cross. Sam Perry and Ian Higgins from The Grade Cricketer podcast join them. They provide an entertaining take on the game. This episode is made available too on Radio 5 Live, in which this content is popularised even more, extending its reach to casual cricket fans.
