Well, 2K Sports just made their announcement that we’re all waiting for! Shai Gilgeous-Alexander NBA 2K26 Standard Edition cover athlete. Fellow hoops star Angel Reese chats with him on the WNBA Edition. One of the all-time great players, Carmelo Anthony will be featured on the Superstar Edition. The three athletes will adorn the cover of this year’s Leave No Doubt Edition. Their powerful impact on the sport will be highlighted from the outset.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander of the Oklahoma City Thunder is taking the league by storm. Unsurprisingly, he was very excited to find out that he would be the one gracing our cover! As he called it, the honor is “iconic,” and with that iconic honor comes the recognition of the tremendous honor bestowed on that recipient. The next step in that journey is Gilgeous-Alexander’s collaboration with developer Visual Concepts and 2K to deliver fans an all-new, truly unique gaming experience.
Recently, star women’s basketball player Angel Reese amplified this message about representation in sports. This year’s edition benefits from the legacy of NBA superstar Carmelo Anthony, whose hallowed career plays as much of a role as an introduction to this year’s edition. Over his historic career, he was selected to ten All-Star Games and made the All-NBA Team on six occasions. Fast forward to 2025, and it was Anthony who finally earned his place in the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame. That recognition crowned his name among the game’s greatest. He contributed to the success of the U.S. Olympic team, winning three gold medals and one bronze over four Olympic appearances.
