Nathan Broadhead Returns to Wrexham with Ambitious Goals

Another huge return has seen Nathan Broadhead return to Wrexham. This transition represents the beginning of a new chapter in his football career that serves as an expected spiritual homecoming. Broadhead had a successful loan stint at Ipswich Town last season. There, he won two promotions and garnered a season’s worth of Premier League experience.

Broadhead’s tenure at Ipswich included some impressive highlights. He became a key double scorer in the Premier League before their subsequent relegation where he helped attract Premier League glory. During his time with Ipswich, he went on to score an additional three goals in the Championship, proving his ability to play at a higher level. He’s already got his sights set on new challenges, as owners of Wrexham. Since transferring over, he’s already netted five goals in all competitions.

His return isn’t just a football story, but rather a broader relationship to the area. Broadhead’s parents live in North Wales, around an hour and a half from Wrexham, near Bangor. This nearness of location adds an additional, more personal layer to his return to the club.

We caught up with Broadhead to discuss why he’s excited about Wrexham’s recent success. “I didn’t really follow closely until they reached League One, but I had friends who are Wrexham fans and they told me how well the club was doing,” he remarked. His excitement is palpable as he notes the impact the club has had on the local community: “What they’ve done has been amazing for the town and for North Wales.”

As he dives into this new venture with Wrexham, Broadhead is hopeful and positive about the club and where they’re headed. He firmly believes there is only one direction for the club: upwards. “There’s only one direction this club is going and that’s up,” he stated, expressing confidence in the collective vision of the ownership and staff.

Broadhead has already made seven starts for Wrexham in the Championship. One thing he’s learned is just how deeply connected he was—and is—to the players and to the fans. “You can feel that inside and outside the club,” he added, indicating a strong sense of unity within the team.

Looking ahead, Broadhead is fully focused on his loan club’s push for promotion. In his own words, he’s looking forward to being part of a team that is determined to get back to the Premier League at the first opportunity. “I’m looking forward to building on that and hopefully getting back to the top flight,” he said.

Broadhead recognizes the commitment on display by everyone at Wrexham to lift the club as high as possible. “The owners, the staff, and people here all want to see a club from North Wales reach the Premier League,” he commented. He tells me he is optimistic that this dream can be realized while he is at Wrexham, and he certainly has the time.
